Help with exploring the NSO website

This is the National Schools' Observatory. Here you can find out about astronomy and space, and about a Telescope you can use to observe the universe for yourself.

Finding your way around

At the top of the page is an "Menu Bar". You can use this to move around the different parts of the observatory. There are eight sections:

Home National Schools' Observatory Home
News News
Observing Observing and Observations
Astronomy Astronomy Information
Registration Registration and User Management
Staffroom Information for Teachers
Search Search the NSO website

Click on the button by the section you want and you will go straight there. You will also see subsections appear in the "Menu Bar" - as you move your mouse around. Again, just click on anything that looks interesting.

You can also see a list of all the sections in the website on the Site Map.

Looking for something special?

If you are not sure what section you want, try a Search. Just click on Search on the menu bar.

Special buttons

You will see that some links have a little rotating Earth picture by them like the one here. These are links to the rest of the Internet and will mean that you leave the Schools' Observatory.

Teachers Only!

To find out more about the education programme and to see how you can get involved, or to get some teaching materials, go into the Staff Room.
