NSO registration is now free
We are happy to report that Liverpool John Moores University have kindly agreed to sponsor registrations by UK schools. This means that new schools registering with the National Schools' Observatory, and indeed existing members wishing to re-register in the future, will be able to do so for free. NSO registration allows staff and students at member schools to request, download and analyse images from a professional robotic telescope located in the Canary Islands. Teachers will also be able to download dedicated NSO image processing software with which to promote practical applications of science, maths and ICT in the classroom.
This is a major milestone for the National Schools' Observatory, and we hope it will encourage many more schools to join the programme, such that thousands of additional students from around the British Isles will be able to discover the excitement of science through the wonders of astronomy ..... please spread the word.
