Catch a Star Competition 2007

Catch a Star 2007
Just thought we would bring you some news of an exciting competition being run by the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and the European Association for Astronomy Education. The competition is open to students from around the world and has some really great prizes on offer, including a trip for the winning team to visit ESO's Very Large Telescope facility on the Paranal mountaintop in Chile.
The Catch a Star! event is more than one competition, so there should be something for everyone, no matter what their age or ability. The programme is more about encouraging students to work together, learning about astronomy and discovering things for themselves by researching information or creating a piece of artwork.
With NSO registered schools having done well in previous competitions, why not give it your best shot. But remember, with less than a month to the entry deadline (2nd March 2007), you may want to get cracking on that idea for a research project or that artistic masterpiece you have been thinking about.
