Ganymede, or Jupiter III, is the largest moon in the Solar System.

It is larger than Mercury, but has only about half of its mass

The surface is very complicated with moutains, valleys, flat plains and craters.

It has light and dark regions. The darker regions have more craters and so are probably older.

The very light spots are recent craters.
