Before you begin ...

You will need a number of computer files representing the night sky for the 'virtual' telescope to use when observing.

The table below lists the night sky files you will need for each activity.

Please note that the night sky files have a special format with the date and time encoded in the body of the file name and a sky extension.

1, 2, 3, 4 and 5	default.sky
6	lt000101_21.sky
7	default.sky
8	weather.sky

Important Note: If you are using Internet Explorer to download these files, it may put a ".txt" at the end of the filename whether you want it to or not. You will have to rename the file before it can be used.

Ask your teacher where these files can be found on your computer.
