Analysing Telescope Image Data
Modern astronomical telescopes, such as the Liverpool Telescope, photograph the night sky using an electronic CCD camera. These are similar to the detectors in digital cameras. They are electronic version of our own eye but very much more sensitive.
CCD cameras produce image data that can be stored on computers.
We are about to undertake a workshop that show us how to investigate digital images that come back from the Liverpool Telescope's CCD camera.
