Why do people become Astronomers?

Everybody is different, and there are many different reasons why professional astronomers choose their career.

Some have been fascinated by the stars since they were very small, others become interested after seeing a television programme or reading a book. Many more choose astronomy because they can study all the different areas of physics that interest them in one go!

Here are some examples of why astronomers at the Astrophysics Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University chose astronomy as a career.
