The Sky Tonight

Maps of the Night Sky over the UK

The pictures in this section show where the planets will be in the sky tonight and the patterns of the stars around them.

Choose from:

• The Whole Sky at 6 o'clock tonight.
• The Horizon at 6 o'clock tonight.
• The Whole Sky at 8 o'clock tonight.
• The Horizon at 8 o'clock tonight.
• The Whole Sky at 10 o'clock tonight.
• The Horizon at 10 o'clock tonight.
• The Whole Sky at Midnight tonight.
• The Horizon at Midnight tonight.

The Whole Sky pictures show the entire sky as a big round picture. The horizon is all the way around the edge with the middle being right overhead. It may take a bit of practice to get used to these pictures, but after a while you will find them very useful.

The Horizon pictures are a bit simpler, but you need more than one to cover the entire sky.
