
A supernova is a giant explosion in space, caused by stars much more massive than the Sun coming to the end of their lives.
Supernovae play a very important part in the evolution of the Universe - indeed, almost every single atom in your body will have been inside at least one such explosion!
However, there are a lot of things about Supernovae that we do not understand well enough. This project involves looking in detail at some of these massive explosions and trying to understand a bit more about them.
