Name : Stellar Spectroscopy and Classification
Description : The Stellar Spectroscopy and Classification workshop is a self-contained Keystage 4 and 5 workshop where students will investigate the spectra of stars taken by the Liverpool Telescope, and learn how to classify them. The main focus of the activity is for students to discover what spectroscopy is, how spectra are obtained, and how astronomers use the information to (i) learn more about the stars they observe and (ii) classify them according to distinct features in their spectra.
